since 1962, the ocean systems segment of advanced systems has enjoyed a prestigious track record in the design, development and production of acoustic countermeasures, expendable rf communication buoys, sonobuoys, expendable training targets, arrays and sonars for the u.s. navy and international customers. located approximately 15 miles south of downtown boston in braintree, ma, ocean systems occupies a 50,000 sq. ft. modern, integrated engineering development and production facility.

	in nearby quincy, ocean systems operates an open water test site at a flooded quarry equipped with an all-weather, instrumented barge for acoustic research and development and production testing. additional acoustic test facilities are on the site, comprising an indoor acoustic test tank with tow rail and hydroacoustic pressure vessels.
ocean systems has produced several hundred thousand transducer and hydrophone elements. used as the acoustic "wet end" in a broad variety of applications including submarine detection, mine detection, sounders and acoustic communications, these products comprise a core capability at ocean systems.
